Hello all,
Tomorrow I leave for a six day trip to Las Vegas--one night at The
Golden Gate and then five nights at the Riviera. It is primarily a work
trip, so I won't get to play very much.
My question is this, does The Golden Gate have their own parking or
should I plan to park at the Gold Nugget? Valet is not an option because
I will need access to my car.

They have a lot & valet parking behind the hotel on the south side,
just outside the back enterance.

Why is Valet out of the question? A couple of bucks tops. I have always
enjoyed using them. They are quick and convenient.
You could park at GN or Plaza and get your parking validated. But why
bother? Sunday-Thursday is quiet at Las Vegas Club as well and you could
park there and cut across the hotel casino from the parking lot to the
Golden Gate. LVC parking can be validated at the casino cage.

While Golden gate has a small outdoor lot with valet parking I'd self
park at Main Street Station, just a short walk away. Free, no
validation required and visible security.

The valet lot is so small you can just tell the guy what your doing and he
won't care most likely. I park there every time I go downtown, it's very
convenient |

Me too. Valet parking at the Golden Gate is one of downtown LV's best
kept secrets. |

I agree... parking at the Las Vegas Club is very easy. The entrance is
around back, though. Take Ogden to 1st Street. 1st St is a dead end
going toward Fremont, but you'll see the entrance to the Las Vegas Club
self-park garage.
I was just there last Friday morning, and no validation was required...
the entire parking garage was wide open. Maybe they require validation
at other times, I don't know.
Don't miss the Bay City Diner at the Golden Gate... it's my all-time
favorite place to eat breakfast in Las Vegas. Small, charming, and the
food is pretty good.

Agreed. BCD has great breakfasts, and their dinner meals aren't bad
either. Good late night specials too, but I can't recommend anything
specific because the specials change from time to time, and it's been
awhile since we ate there. |

Sometimes they do need validation when FSE has a big event, but on most
occasions the Asian guy (or the old blond lady) are asleep and the gate is
open. Either way, the hotel has known me for over 16 years so I park there
all the time.
For anyone who remembers Roberto, the wonderful portly Mexican gentleman
with the handlebar mustache and is THE BEST WAITER in Las Vegas (Great
Moments Room) he is doing fine.
Thank god Manny is still serving omelets at MSS. By the way, the waitresses
at Golden Gate are what makes the place. I noticed they picked up two
waitresses from Upper Deck.

I plan to. By the way, your sig often plants itself in the middle of
posts, and the dash dash space cuts off everything below your post on
most newsreaders. Not sure what's happening there, but this is a heads
up that your reader seems to be top posting replies and you might want
to find a cure for that.
