This French gourmet restaurant is one of the "hidden" gems of dining in Las
Vegas. It's an intimate experience, since the room can hold only 20 diners.
The Chef Robert (born in Switzerland) owned the famed "Truly Yours"
restaurant in Northridge, CA; then came to Las Vegas to open Paris Hotel.
Now being retired; his wife made him open "Truly Yours" in Las Vegas to keep
him occupied; and to help mentor a new executive chef.
Open from 11AM to 9PM, his brunch offerings range from dinner-size salads
with amazing dressings such as a Chicken salad with celery, raisins, walnuts
and honey-drizzled white cream dressing (Sunset Park Salad) or his Spinach
(Popeye) salad with Bermuda onions, bacon and egg...to Eggs Benedict, Crepes
Luzen (spinach-mushroom-leeks-onion-cheese), Quiche Lorraine...to a Monte
Cristo with strawberry jam and the "house special" New York Steak sandwich
on garlic toast with a pepper sauce (prices range from $5.95 to $9.95).
His Leek Potato Spinach soup is amazing...and the escargots are served atop
mushroom cups. The 'Specialties' vary from Mignons of Beef Tenderloin with
Béarnaise Sauce, Salmon Tiffany baked in a Puff Pastry crust with mushrooms
and spinach, Roasted Tenderloin of Pork stuffed with apples, prunes and
apricots...prices from $7.75 to $13.50 Also on his menu is a selection of
Fish, Chicken and Turkey cutlets served in various sauces from $7.25 to
$10.75
The desserts are heavenly and rare to see anywhere in town at pricing of
$3.95 or less...definitely try to Serpent Crepe with a Coffee-liquor caramel
sauce and pine nuts, Black Chocolate Mouse or Croissant Bread-Pudding with
Amaretto base and vanilla sauce.
This French restaurant offers the best cuisine in the neighborhood at such
pricing.
Phone is 617-6424. Carryout orders can be arranged; as well as group
dinners. The location is Sunset/Eastern. The restaurant is located between
the Rose and Barber shop; there's a Smog Check facility on the corner.
Currently, the restaurant has no liquor license; so patrons can bring their
own bottles without paying the corkage fee.
Regards from two natives of Las Vegas,
Tom & Bill
Ps. The natives have no financial investment in this restaurant, but only to
see it begin a success
