I'm going to Vegas weekend of Nov 9th thru 12th. and hotels are really
expensive that weekend. I'm going to be by myself - so I don't need fancy
(I usually stay at Paris, TI, Mirage, Harrahs, etc). Stratosphere, Sahara,
and Circus Circus are the only reasonable hotels I can find. Anyone stayed
in these? Got an opinion?

Sahara hands down, because the monorail stops there, Strat too far of a
walk, circus ciircus too many kids, also consider Tropicana rates are
online.

mexican restaurant at sahara is good.

Your lowest price option that is reasonably close to the Strip (1 mile
west) for those dates would be the Orleans hotel. In addition, most
people would agree that Orleans has much nicer rooms than Sahara,
Circus Circus, or Stratosphere. Down side is that you can't walk to the
Strip or monorail. However, they have a free shuttle that leaves every
20 minutes (9:30a-12a) that takes you to Barbary Coast, which is in the
center of the Strip.
