For the first time in many years I have decided to rent a car for a couple
of days when we come out next Wednesday. The first night will be at the
Golden Nugget downtown and saving on the cab pays for the car rental!
The next morning we plan to visit Red Rock Station and perhaps Red Rock
Valley, though we have seen tons of beautiful scenery over the years. Then
we will drive to Green Valley Ranch to check it out before checking into
Palazzo.
I have the car reserved for two days, and we might revisit the south
strip, since we haven't gotten to see Luxor or Mandalay Bay for several
years.
Any other suggestions for the new, MOBILE DocTom? (And no, we aren't into
sushi, so Makino holds no sway.)
Tom

If you'd like to see the old Moulin Rouge property on your way from
downtown to Red Rock, go north on Main St or LV Blvd, under the
freeway, then left on Bonanza Road. The property is a half-mile west
of Main on the right-hand side. You can see the old Moulin Rouge sign
and the front facade.
Continue west on Bonanza to Rancho Drive where you can turn left to
pick up route 95 and Summerlin Pkwy and head over to Red Rock.

On your way to Red Rock Station, eat at Hash House A Go Go -- it's on
Charleston. I am in love with this place! Portions are huge though, so
you might want to share one meal... When you are downtown you could
hit the Premium Outlet mall... How about a visit to the Pin Ball Hall
of Fame, the Old Mormon Fort, Lotus of Siam, Luv It Custard, or the
Atomic Testing Museum? I know, drive out to Lake Las Vegas and enjoy
the marina area, shops, etc with views of those top notch golf
courses! Or maybe take a drive up to Mt Charleston and have drinks at
the lodge.
I've got tons of dive-y cheapskate reccomendations, but as memory
serves you are not as much of a fan of the seemy side of Fab LV as I
am
Regards,
Amy
