Fraudulent ad for Dell CPX H500GT Laptop

The For Sale ad below appeared in this newsgroup in mid September - it
is an apparently fraudulent ad. No computer will be shipped and the
seller has "disappeared"

If you responded and need informaiton on the "seller" - Samuel Gipson
(an alias) - you may contact the Panola County Mississippi Sheriff's
department in Batesville MS. Ask to speak with Investigator Thompson.

The ironic part is the final paragraph which appeared in one of the
newsgroup ads and was placed there to make the fraudulent ad itself
sound good. This was done by a repeat offender - with similar ads
dating back to 1997.

I had a simular incident a couple years ago, guy had numorous laptops he was
selling. i had a lot of buyers ready to go the route, but (not sure if it
was the same person) this guy was advertising local to me. I told him i
would come with the cash to do the deal, then never heard from him again.
might be the same person and goes state to state. (?)
