Some of you may know that I have started a new online message board
for my local southwest Las Vegas neighborhood (ZIP CODE 89148).

Message boards live and die by how useful they are. This is mostly
reflected by how many new visitors start to actively participate in
postings. Unfortunately, this seems to be a chicken-and-egg
situation, new visitors are hesitant to post until there is more
relevant content but there can't be a lot of relevant content without
more people posting and participating.

As a special request, I would ask any current or former greater Las
Vegas residents (any part of the valley) to visit our new message

If you could post a few lines in any of the several forum categories,
perhaps we can achieve the critical mass of messages necessary to
becoming a successful project. If the 89148 message board works, I've
had a request to set up a similar neighborhood message board for
Centennial Hills.

Although you are encouraged to register, it is NOT required for
posting to MOST of the forum categories. So, if you want to just
quickly post a few words about your favorite restaurant, post an
inquiry for other Scrabble players, list one of your favorite web
links, or just leave a brief HOWDY message in Neighbor Chat, it would
help to give our new message board a more friendly "lived-in" feel and
hopefully elicit further messages and interaction in my fairly new
neighborhood.
